Live ball tennis

Live Ball Tennis was started in 2008 by Andrew Majett, III. Coach Majett has been coaching in the Bethesda, MD. area since 1993. Over those years he has trained hundreds of players of all ages and abilities. He believes that virtually every players “best” tennis is ahead of them. Many ask what the name “Live Ball” means. When coach was working on his game back in the 1970’s he realized something… It was fun to have mom, dad, or a coach feed him balls, BUT he grew frustrated that he had difficulty actually executing when he competed. In tennis jargon, a “fed” ball is referred to as a “dead ball” exercise. In contrast, a rally is when two or more players are stroking the ball back and forth. Rally’s are “live.” Coach found he improved best and more rapidly when training in a “live ball” scenario versus the “dead ball” one. There is a place for “dead ball” training in tennis excellence, and that place is second!
